I've learned that it doesn't do much good to fret over anything. "Don't sweat the small stuff because everything is the small stuff," is an adage that I follow.
Small stuff is relative.
I've risen from my death bed, been stuck in a 1,000 year flood, had fires on board an aircraft.
They were close calls, but "small stuff" in my experience. Anything less harrowing that those are micro-stuff.
The Lenten lesson for today was about the mother of two of the disciples asking Jesus to be sure he makes room for her sons in heaven. Jesus says, it's not up to him to do that. In my view, life is predestined.
Since nobody know who's been picked, it's important to do what Jesus would do, which is to do good and do no harm.
I think that means to be accountable for your actions and make the best of what the world doles out to you and have empathy for those whose small stuff is big stuff.
