Lent Day 34: Go with the flow

As for my life in general, I have a pretty good idea what lies ahead. For example, today I finished my taxes. The deadline this year is April 18th. I had to get those completed because I'm leaving town on April 10th for a week.

An uncertainty for me is on April 6th, I have baseball tickets for the Colorado Rockies opening day in Denver. The weather is supposed to be below freezing. I hope the game will be cancelled.

I finished my "Views from Atop My Bedpan" book. It releases today. That's a certainty.

I have a hard time believing that when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on what is now known as Palm Sunday, he knew what was about to happen to him that week.

There must have been lots of buzz about him riding into town and rumors floating about how the Jewish elite were plotting to take him down.

As for the unexpected, I tend not to think about those scenarios. Mark Twain said something to the effect, the things that he spends time worrying about, never happen.

Today's Lenten lesson is about Jesus's last week alive. I think he, like Twain was a go-with-the-flow kind of guy.
