Do you visualize? The Boulder International Film Festival wrapped on Sunday. The special guest was F. Murray Abraham of recent "White Lotus" fame. He won the Best Actor Oscar for his role as Salieri in "Amadaeus."
The Lenten lesson for today is about a landowner who gets his vineyard in order, but leaves the place in the hands of others to eventually bring in the grapes. He left town assuming all was good and later sent in a crew, but the tenants who took care of the place killed the landowner's workers and took the profits.
The rich guy didn't pay attention to his business and ended up losing everything. His intentions didn't match up with reality. He could have taken a cue from Abraham's method.
Murray was interviewed on stage for a "Hollywood Reporter" podcast. Abraham explained how he visioned success and winning an Academy Award. He was viewed as boastful, but in his view, that's been one of the keys to his success.
That's how I day dream. I visualize how projects I have in the hopper will be successful. I don't day dream out loud, but live what I imagine with the hope that I'll put myself into positions to succeed and not have my grapes taken by under-handed colleagues.
