Our Shame

It isn't God we hide our deepest selves from, but others and too often ourselves. God already knows us in our deepest parts and seeks relationship regardless. It is we who refuse to acknowledge God's deep, intimate, preexisting relationship with us and thus think we are hiding from God. We are much better with hiding our secrets from each other. I have done things that I am ashamed of, but mostly I hide aspects of myself that might glorify God. Afraid and ashamed to take the risk. Paradise on my terms.
