Lent Day 37: I draw the line at death wishes

When Jesus sent Judas out to buy what they needed for the festival. He wanted to get him out of his hair and for Judas to get on with the task at hand, which was to tell the bad guys where Jesus was hanging out and his schedule.

I didn't know that Judas was the disciple's treasurer. He must have used his business acumen to talk the Romans and the pharisees out of money, "If you pay us a little more silver, I'll give you the schedule of events."

Unlike Judas, I'm not greedy. I wouldn't sell anyone out for money, nor do I buy things that I don't need. I wear clothes until they are threads. Although I now take into account clothes that go out of production. For example, I wear a certain type of denim jeans. I have two pair, one for back up. It's time to replace them. I wrote about this the other day when I learned that they aren't made anymore. I'm a skinny guy and the replacements are "relaxed" and "loose." I had to resort to the secondary market and found a decent pair of used ones on eBay.

I'm getting to the point in my life when I don't need more stuff and buy event tickets. Sometimes that doesn't work out. For example, tomorrow is the Colorado Rockies opening day game. Over the past week, the weather has been seesawing between 70 degrees to snow. Game day, the weather will be 50s. My partner was supposed to go, but she's a fair weather fan. I've had trouble finding someone to take the extra ducat. That's the problem with events, there are many variables that can change plans.

Maybe I need to have predetermined plans short of a death wish that I have to fulfill no matter what.
