Lent Day 31: There you are

No matter where I go, I don't have any trouble becoming part of the crowd. I think that has to do with being comfortable in my skin and not too concerned about what others think about me.

When I travel out of the country, I study the culture and learn the language, at least a few pleasantries, and the numbers. Those conversational phrases are also useful when I meet, for example, a Ugandan in the United States. They are surprised that I know the basic, "Oly otya" greeting.

Unless it's a bunch of people I see regularly, chances are, I'll never see the ones who I meet once or encounter randomly when I spill a drink, or hold a door open.

I know some people who are always moving to new neighborhoods or communities thinking they'll get a fresh start or opportunities will be better else where. Unless they are willing to change, no matter where you go, there you are.
