Debts of gratitude

So many…

I owe a debt to the wilderness-

Nature is my mothers face,
her eyes laughing in rivers,
The furrow of her brow in the deep canyon
Her fury in the wind and snow.

We’ve had a snowstorm since last night, and the power’s gone out. The little generator normally put into use during the PSPS (Public Safety Power Shutoffs)in the fall is sputtering off and on, so I’m not sure whether I’ll get to post this tonight. I owe so many debts. I owe debts to everyone and everything who have been my teachers- my children, my lovers, my dogs, my friends. I owe debts of gratitude. Signing off early- I appreciated the note today about doing it right. Here’s to all of you- doing it right.
